My weekend turned out to be quiet different for a change. After working on Digital Design Lab on Friday (i consider this Friday as a weekend becaues of July 4), I stayed back at Tech to finish my DSP HW. However, I got exhausted after going through most of them so I just headed for home. Saturday turned out to be more itneresting. I went to Wachovia to apply for a part time job. However, the receptionist told me that I would have to call the main branch on Monday to enquire about job vacancies. After this, I came back home and then went to the Alpharetta Library. One reason I went was to just volunteer, but the other more important reaosn was to pick up some books at the monthly book sale. I got some really great bargains (I got 4 of the "Left Behind" series books for $3 each!). I also picked up Michener's Chesapeake, and although, I didnt really love "Centennial" (AP US History with Serkie people), I thought it might be a nice change (especially after few of the other voluneteers recomendded it for me. Also, it was only 50 cents so price was not even a consideration.

When I went back home, it was around 6 and then I was just wandering around the house and staring at my book collection. I also picked up some books on religion, astrology, and reincarnation. I hope I get a chance to read most of them before the end of the month. I dont think I will have anytime this week because of the endless list of things I have to get done! At around 7, we left for our uncle's place in Acworth. We had a nice time there (played some Pictinoary, watched Lagaan (an Indian movie about cricket - oscar nominee and played some Bridge (although I lost twice!)). Then we got up today, usual breakfast/lunch/brunch scenario, and then headed back for Alpharetta. I had a quick bite to eat before I left for Tech (i know its sad that I went to Tech on a weekend but I realized its better to get something done thna nothing at all and then feel bad about it later).

I was in the DDL lab from 2-5 working on oscilloscopes, downloading circuits to the Altera board (i know it sounds like these are big words but its not too complicated), and figured out how a "simple computer" actually works (even though i didnt get it the first time for the check offs). I think that the most important thing was I actually understood what I was doing (for the first time in a while). I got back and started looking over some DSP material (I have a really major DSP lab this Thurs- about telephone modelling, and our last test on Friday). At around 9, I went to Wendy's to help out a friend I met yesterday at the "Friends of the Alpharetta Library" booksale. This woman, Martha, was really nice and we had a great conversation. I went there to help her out with some German translation for her recital. It only lasted about 20 minutes but still I enjoyed myself. After that, we talked about politics, and segwayed into the events that unfolded on 9/11 and just had a really neat conversation. I really had a good time; it was a great feeling and something that I have really needed after a few stressful weeks. I think I hear my dad yelling in the background about wasting time blogging but I just think its nice to reflect on such a great day/weekend/whatever. I hope I can somehow get through this stressful week! Also, I was in a real blogging mood after reading Jen's July 4th trip in Florida (thanks for motivating me!).
