TOPIC: Horoscopes

I have had many interesting conversations about the truth about horoscopes and whether they are worth the time and effort...Actually, it wasnt until i went to Madras last summer that i really become more into them and started believing them...I dont find them to be that dissuading as some people do because a lot of things the 'josiers' have told us have infact come true....however, the more important lesson to learn is not to revolve your life around what your horoscope says but just lead it normally...and do your best, work hard, try to be a good citizen....suppose if your horoscope says you are going to only shine well in science...it doesnt mean that you wont shine well in other things...my cousin told me this and i think it makes a lot of sense...as most people know, i am very crazy about A.R.Rahman's music and whenever i get time i either sing / hum tunes or compose some music on the piano (nothing nearly as good as his though). However, according to my horoscope i will only shine well in math/science related fields...so i thought music was not even worth exploring into even though i like it so much....i was even considering a music minor..but after a lot of talks with people i know...i think i will still pursue my interests and hope that some day i sing for an A.R.Rahman movie or at least some Tamil or Hindi song....sometimes i wish i was in india and learnt music from a very early age continously....now i feel like i am learning...stopping...relearning...stopping...and its not continous...i started 'carnatic' music last Saturday and i am already very impressed with my teacher. Anyway, back to the discussion on Horoscopes...i think they are true to a great extent but its up to the individual..and the person who you consider to be a good 'josier' (fortune teller) is usually by reputation...last year, the man we met told us that my mum would get a job around this date....what her date of birth is, where we live, our names, and a lot about our past history...its very interesting..but sometimes you only want to hear the good things...not the bad points...and i think if you have a sensible attitude and mind...you should learn to just take the good points..and go on with your life...i keep telling my friend that i will get her horoscope read in india..and lets see if she finally starts believing them then!! my cousin told me that he could palm read and told me i would live a very long life (not fair)...i dont really want to but i guess after he told me that..i decided to eat healthy and exercise more often..b/c i am going to be living long anyway..so might as well live healthy..and not be a crippled old fool...
