Spring '03

Sat Mar 1

Today started out quite hectically!!! I was up at 7:30 in the morning to take my brother for his piano theory exam. I didnt have time to really grab breakfast so we just left and i got lost on the interstate. I dropped him 10 mins before his exam and went to McD's for breakfast :-) I called home and my mum gave me a list of things to get at the indian store but they were closed till 11 that day. I drove around Decatur hoping to find somethign exciting to do for the next 2 hrs while i waited for my brother. I drove on North Druid Hills and stopped at the Caribou Coffee (although i am a starbucks fan as most of my friends will know). I ordered a cappacino only to find out i was short on cash! I was hopin that they cashier would accept my credit card but to my surprise she told me in a friendly voice "your order has been paid for sir by the previous customer." I took my coffee, with a smile, and sipped on it only to realize i need more sugar. So i went back to get some more sweetener and drove back to the church where i dropped my brother off. He came back at 10:30 and said he performed quite well on his exam. We listened to some music on our way back and were just waiting to go home and have lunch that amma had prepared. After lunch, i left with amma to the mall to pick up a gift for Ran. We went to Rich's and found a really nice looking fruit ball from Mikasa so we get that and rushed back. It was nearly 2:30 by then and I had to still pack and get my things ready for my trip.

I went upstairs and got my laundary, sorted out my clothes for the trip, took my books (circuits and micro - i dont know why!), collected my photo albums from the garba, republic day dinner and panama city trip,....packed my CD case, my camera, my "chitti" tapes, VCD's from our India trip and finally my calling card! ....however, after i had gotten everything ready i couldnt find my wallet ...i was running around the house frantically trying to find it because i was getting late for my trip....appa finally gave it to me after he found it sitting pointlessly on the lounge table where i had kept it "safely"....

we packed everything into the car...and headed for the MARTA station.....my suitcase was quite heavy and it was very difficult to maneuver it around the train with so many people ....i got to the Airport finally around 5...and i ran to the check in counter with my huge bag! Luckily for me there was no wait ...and i was able to check in quite comfortably....i ran to my gate after going through the security check and tried calling my friends who were not avaiable....i called home and talked briefly before i boarded my short journey to Charlotte.

I reached Albany, NY Saturday night after a comfortable journey from Atlanta (via Charlotte). I expected more service (more food and refreshments) from US Airways because they only served drinks....a few pretzels and cookies would have been nice....ofcourse i did get them upon demand! haha. We reached on time (actually a little early) and I called my cousin, Ranjani (Ran), as soon as I got to the baggage claim. I mer her and husband, Richie a little later and we drove back home. I was glad to note that another couple was also at their house (Vidya and Prasad) and we had a quiet dinner that night (we were all pretty tired!).

Sun Mar 2

We set out for Niagra around 8 this morning after loading the car with lot of junk food and lunch (tamarind rice, curd rice, tomato rice and pickles)....the journey was very nice although it was very cold outside....we saw snow flurries...
