Another survey..why not??

1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before?
- joined a light music singing group
- sung Carnatic music (Navaragamalika varanam) on stage at our school's annual recital
- got my 1st ticket (on New Years 2003!)
- moved off campus and cooked myself (many meals I must say - edible though!)
- gave my GRE


2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Never make them coz I never remember them and dont beleive that they are true!

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes, my cousin, Ranjani gave birth to Nikita-Rianne in New York :-)

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope (thankfully)

5. What countries did you visit?
US?

6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?
A higher GPA, umm..more focused about my future perhaps?

7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Nothing specific - Nov 20th (when I gave my GRE's)

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Nothing so proud to call it an acheievement, being open about my thoughts - taking the initiative to be part of Thendral (thanks to Aish)

9. What was your biggest failure?
Figuring out who really my friends were after personal experiences

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
nope

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Well I dont think I really spent my money productively (mostly at restaurants), or Tin Drum or Quiznos but my brother's Yamaha keyboard was the best!! The best think I bought was a Citizen Watch I think or perhaps my gold chain.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My parents for dealing with all their problems despite so much work pressure and my brother, Ashwin, (for composing two amazing tunes - he won reflections in the school, and county and is now competing in the state level). He is truly obsessed about being the future ARR rahman - he even grew out his hair!

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
That person has a pretty good idea for their childish and apalling behavior. If they change or not is not my concern because somethings you forget, somethings you never forgive.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Books, off-campus apartment, groceries and eating out :-)

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Graduation was a year away - countdown started!

16. What song will always remind you of 2003?
hmm.....all are the ARR ones ..esp Boyz

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? about the same but definitely busier!
ii. thinner or fatter? People say I have put on weight - I never lose or gain though the eating seems to be growing more and more
iii. richer or poorer? Poorer in terms of finance, Richer in terms of experience.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Stay focused on a few things instead of doing too many things and burning myself which I have learnt this year not to do!

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Eating out at Olive Garden!

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
At home - we dont really do anything for Christmas - my dad is like you can celebrate Diwali again then! lol

21. Did you fall in love in 2003?
With Boys songs, the Chitti serial (radhika was awesome) I guess?

22. How many one-night stands?
Moving on - ..

23. What was your favorite TV program?
Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Meredith Vieira rules!

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I dont hate people but I frown up people who give up their morals.

25. What was the best book you read?
Does the Microelectronic circuits book count? just kidding

26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
ARR again - so many great albums!

27. What did you want and get?
A chance to sing and be involved

28. What did you want and not get?
Wanted to go to New York to visit my periamma (aunt) and cousin during Christmas break.

29. What was your favorite film of this year?
Nothing was great - boys was decent.


30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Turned 20 - went to Minerva with all my friends. Myself and Chirag treated the whole gang (Nisha, Sowmya, Gaurav, Neera, Ranit, Somas, Puja, Rao, Ananta).

31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Figuring out things step by step and taking an optimistic approach towards everything.

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003?
Old Navy, Aeropostale to a slight extent, and Kohls. Casual and comfortable!

33. What kept you sane?
Starbucks ofcourse -white chocolate mocha! and towards the end of the year ginger tea.

34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Meredith Vieria - started getting hooked to TV game shows (esp Millionaire) and to a certain extent Pyramid.

35. What political issue stirred you the most?
Not much into politics - this year would be gay marriages though


36. Who did you miss?
People i met freshmen year of college (the experience itself - esp Brittain)

37. Who was the best new person you met?
I met many people (some online Anirudh, Ratika, Viniya) others from a friend of mine, Praveena (Smitha, Manan) but best is something hard to choose ...I learnt something from everyone.

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003:
Do what you enjoy, realize your dreams, set realistic expectations and goals, and be proud of what you are and what you have achieved and plan a path to create meaningful steps to reach to the potential you desire. Dont compare yourself with everyone else and feel demotivated. Learn to live life, enjoy it, trust a few people, use your instincts, be calm, confident, positive, clear, open and ofcourse yourself.
