i feel like blogging about my big dream in life...singing for A.R.Rahman (the best MD ever)...actually.i dont know when i became so fascianted by Rahman's music....i never really listened to that much "indian" music till i think 1996...when i went to India..then so many albums were a hit..i think 'dil to pagal hai' and 'hindustani'...and i just started listening because all my cousins were into it...and i became addicted then....then i would wait for every one of his ablums to be released but it wasnt till i came to the US..that i actually became a devout follower..i think his music is the best..and although sometimes its not always original..its still good to listen to...i dont think i hate any of his albums, although May Madham (Love You Hamesha) is one of the more mediorce ones..

I like his Tamil albums and Hindi ones ...but more his Tamil ones because he has released a lot more Tamil songs.....I dont particularly like it when he recycles tunes and makes them from one language to the other ..even though the music isnt bad..it just doesnt sound the same as the original...I was awaiting the release of "Star" last year in India..only to be dissapointed with the fact they were all Thakshak songs dubbed in Tamil...and one song from Earth....the one new composition was an extension of a background tune he had composed for 1 2 ka 4....i think 'Sangamam' is a very good album of his because it has so much carnatic depth in it...of late...lagaan is definitely a noteworthy album..and even his patriotic "legend of bhagat singh" is melodious to listen to....i like the usual love songs he has with udit and alka (jogiya and mahive)...the very classical ones are also nice..but i cant hear them repeatedly....

it would be nice to actually see how he composes his tunes..and how he comes up with the musical arrangement..sometimes when i go home...i sit in front of the piano..and try to think like a musis director..and how they would think...i have come up with about 8-9 different tunes..but i dont think i will ever release them...because they are short..and just playing it on the piano is not good...it needs more depth..more instruments..more effects...my borther also has started playing around with different tunes...and even though i dont want to admit it...he is much better at coming up with more creative tunes than i am....maybe we can become a duo...i keep telling him that i will steal your tunes..and be famous...and his usual come back...is "no one will hear your music anyway"..haha..its all very interesting and exciting...but for one thing..if i ever get a chance to sing..with him..i will be quiet excited...i think he is a very talented musician..and he has changed the face of music...i am not saying there are not other talented MD's in India..but A.R.Rahman has also released so many albums, introduced so many new singers, and composes in so many languages (Tamil, Hindi and even Telugu)....he has gone international...and experimented with many different sounds/voices...his latest release "Baba" has a song that was composed via the net...meanign he had the backgroudn composed in London...sent the songs through the net..and recorded the voices in India...quite amazing...what a brilliant guy...sometimes i wish i were a music major...
