labor day weekend can be summarized in one word - graduation party. well actually a few words ...but anyway...i had my graduation party on saturday (september 4th) at the seven oaks club house and i had a wonderful time. i think all the planning (mostly by my parents) in terms of catering, booking the hall, getting the decorations and all went very smoothly and it reflected on saturday. so here's some of the highlights from my party...

2:45: decorated the "tech" table at the clubhouse
3:00: placed all the drinks and chips in the kitchen
3:10: added color scrunchies on different tables
3:25: carefully placed baloons around the room
3:45: playing around with the music system and deciding which songs to play
4:10: had a glass of Fanta..placed my graduation cake from Hot Breads in the kitchen
4:25: drove back home to get ready for the party

the party was really nice..i think sushant was the first guest followed by aish...it was nice having a lot of groups there ..some from tech..some from tamil sangam...some from my music school...to the siemens gang ...also, the fact that everyone atleast knew a few people didnt make it lonlely for anyone (or i hope).

i think everyone who rsvp'd came ...i met up with anup, praveena, preeti, aish, nisha, chirag, sowmya, chathruckan and many more ...! the cake cutting around 9' was the most embarassing because there was a surprised speech session. though it felt really nice to be appreciated by so many different people ...i kind of dont like showing off...people were like "its only once in your lifetime so enjoy it." i guess it was a good feeling of encouragement and definitely allowed me to realize how much more i have to accomplish. the planning and the whole party in itself made me realize how much more intense my wedding reception is going to be!! well i have 7 years to plan and figure all that out and get my life more focused and well oriented.

i left thendral...and so did ashwin. it was extremely tiring and the practices seem to be getting longer. also, i felt i was not really having the best of times there because of too much unwanted politics but i guess thats there with any indian organization. i figured if i want to be part of such a group i should have a sense of satisfaction. we are thinking of organizing a more youth focused group but everything is still in the air as of now. i am practicing "appade podu" and "sakarakatti rajathi" for a program on sep 18th for a family get-to-gether along with ashwin, raghu, mike and aish. we were wondering what name would be good - i like 'varna.' though H2O sounds funky too!

i am excited about work though the inclement weather conditions today has been kind of depressing.
