wow i cant believe its september already! work is going well at accenture. i like my boss and the group of people in my team. although, i wont be starting on my actual project till the monday after labor day weekend for DB, i am familiarizing myself with Oracle/SQL and processing ticket requests. well i think one of the major things that i forgot to write about from last week was SICF - the south indian cultural festival.

SICF - Sat Aug 21 - also known as "Mega South" was a colloboration by the four south indian organizations in Atlanta (Tamil sangam, Telugu Association, GAMA, and Kannada Koota). myself and ashwin performed in the music segment. I sang "Ale Ale" from boys and the humming for "Fanah." the program went really well with a lot of classical dances and film numbers. i thought the highlights of the event were the thaiya thaiya (preeti's coreography) and the "nritollasam" by savita aunty. i was backstage for the most part so i couldnt watch all the acts.

hmm..i met up with praveena and bargava the other day at the gsu park. we were talking about my graduation party (which is on Saturday). i dont really care about it because its not that big a deal. i mean, i guess it is but i am not everly excited about it (as of now anyway)! we have been busy planning that. its going to be about 85 people at the seven oaks club house.

i got my green card - today infact on a very random note!

i have been corresponding with anup (one of my friends - i met him through tamil sangam). he is in the "cool folks" dance group and they have performed many fast numbers. we have been talking about various issues from the politics here to our future plans. its been interesting. i dont really meet people who talk so openly so i enjoyed talking to him. i never feel the age difference talking to adults because i always feel people my age are just too immature. ashwin says i should be less "mature" for my age as opposed to the contrary.

i am excited about the labor day weekend as it will be a nice break (i hope) to just sit down and "rediscover" myself (anup taught me that). classes are going well and i found out my 4:30 class on wednesday is cancelled so i only have one class next week. i was busy looking for classes for next semester. i will probably take fourier signal analysis and strategy marketing (mgt).

i had an interesting discussion with praveena the other day about marrying some who is a "non-vegetarian" and she brought about some interesting points. i guess its good to talk to people about how you feel so you can hear another perspective. its good to be conservative but its also good to be open to ideas and not dogmatic.

i submitted my article to jen yesterday for the technique on the academic misconduct statistics. i hope it came out well. i didnt get a chance to personally meet dean boyd and her secretary (i wont mention her name) was giving me a hard time in making an appointment with her saying "well she already emailed you."

and i am enjoying annamalai (which is going to end on sun tv soon) but radhika is just the best actress i have ever seen. (yes i know that was a very random note)
